CLASS
RULES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
'Openists' philosophy can be summarised in a few words
: friendly user sport spirit, simplicity and the real
pleasure of sailing.
The
Open 5.00 completely answers these demands.
The design and high-level production methods allow everyone
to sail without any sophistication but still on a safe
and reliable boat with unexpected performances.
Even if our boat should not be regarded as a high competition
boat, we are aware that we will all try to sail faster
than everyone else; therefore, and in order to avoid
any misunderstanding, class rules will be very strict
: THERE IS NO CLASS RULES
only one to be scrupulously
observed : Keep the boat as supplied by the boatyard.
The boatyard has decided to fit the boat with high quality
deck fittings ( Harken for example). Each part replaced
has to be of the same brand, same measurements, answer
same function and in exactly the same position; sails,
spinnakers and spares have to be supplied by the boatyard.
In order to avoid any misunderstanding, following points
will be approved :
- Sailing team : minimum of 2 people with a maximum
of.. ( to be specified according to the Open 500 homologation
to come - 4 people we think)
- Mechanical Wind indicator
- Magnetic compass or mini TACTIK
- Free pennants on sails, riggings
- Rope bag to keep bottle of water, suntan cream and
camera available (option offered by the boatyard).
Any boat participating in our events must conform to
the legislation (including safety material). An ELP
classification should satisfy the Open 5.00 program
and would allow sailing to the nearest islands. Material
to be on board will be minimum and a complete list will
be detailed soon on the web.
All of your proposals will be studied by the Association
the boatyard and the architect- keeping in mind two
main principles : all modifications must be easily adaptable
to previous built boats and keep the above described
philosophy)
